CarGo — Level Design & Level Art Direction | Fortified Hub City (Wasteland Settlement)

This case covers the design and build of a fortified post-apocalyptic hub city while maintaining the Wasteland atmosphere.
I developed the settlement based on references, focusing on a layered, multi-level structure for stronger silhouettes, depth, and clear orientation. Defensive elements and perimeter fortifications were added to sell the idea that the community actively protects itself and controls access. To support worldbuilding and function, I placed wind turbines on the mountain to communicate local energy production and self-sufficiency, and introduced a small garden area to add contrast, life, and a believable “lived-in” hub feeling.
